The77 Publications was founded in 2019 by four friends, Ben Cullis, Dave Heeley, Steve Bull and Jo Heeley who share a love for comics and created ‘The77’ anthology in 2020. It proved a huge success and the first three issues were all quickly funded on Kickstarter before Steve MacManus joined and ‘BLAZER!’ soon followed. Since then ‘Pandora’ and ‘This Comic is Haunted’ joined the roster and The77 Publications became a regular fixture at comic conventions across the UK.
In 2022 they became sponsors of ‘Lawless: A Celebration of British Comics’ held in Bristol and have been steadily increasing the scope of their publications.
2023 was a pivotal year with ‘Shift Presents:The77’ being released nationwide through WHSmiths and other book stores, and Ian Gibson confirmed he wanted his long awaited ‘Lifeboat’ to be published by the team and quickly followed by John Wagner who wanted their expertise to co-produce ‘The Bogie Man: The Incomplete Case Files’.
