Andy has worked for over thirty five years as a storyteller; both as a writer and artist creating stories, characters and story worlds across many platforms, through comics, books, magazines, TV and film. He is probably best known for his work writing Marvel’s ‘cosmic’ characters, particularly, The Guardians of the Galaxy, that became the basis for the breakout hit film series for Marvel Studios.
Other writing credits include the 2000 relaunch of DC Comics, “Legion of Super-Heroes”, and a 2007 “Nova” series for Marvel Comics, as well as Resurrection Man, Superman/Batman and The Authority for DC Comics, The Punisher, The Avengers and New Mutants for Marvel Comics.
Andy is also a celebrated inker, working with some of the biggest artists in comics and is best known for his work on Wonder Woman, Superman, Batman, The Justice League, The X-Men, The Amazing Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, Thor, Iron Man and the Secret Service comic series, with Dave Gibbons, which was made into the box office smash, The Kingsmen, 2014.
Andy has written for video games and spent eight years as the Executive Creative Director for Magic Leap, a tech start-up developing Augmented Reality glasses, helping to define the company’s creative ethos and developing the possibilities that the new platform and technology of spatial computing mixed reality presented.
Recently, He wrote a 120-page graphic novel with Ron Marz based on Twilight Imperium, the best-selling board game series, Project Superheroes: Fractured States, for Dynamite Comics, Endless Winter, a crossover series for DC Comics and he also inked the 8-issue mini-series, DCeased: The Undead Gods with Trev Hairsine and Tom Taylor.
In whatever spare time he has, Andy likes to play football, squash and video games, walk his dogs and write weird biographies in the third person!
